Nineteen Killed By GM’s Defective Ignition Switches

Probe Investigates 205,000 Ford Fiestas

The U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTSA) has begun a probe into 205,000 Ford Fiestas with door latch problems. The NTSA has received over 60 complaints of the door latch not working properly. Some claim that the latch wouldn’t clasp, and there have been at least twelve reports of doors swinging open while driving.

So far, only one injury has been reported after a door swung open and bounced back on someone. Investigators will first determine how often this problem is occurring before deciding if a recall should be issued. If you purchased a Ford Fiesta from the 2011 through 2013 model years and you are experiencing problems with your door latch, you should contact your dealer immediately.
